Upstairs At The Western

Upstairs At The Western is a fully equipped 40-50 seat multi-genre arts venue in Leicester’s west end (off Braunstone Gate), with 150+ shows per season. It is operated by a not-for-profit social enterprise (Upstairs At The Western CIC) which has two objectives to be:-

A community orientated arts venue – Artistic audiences will benefit by having a small multi-form suburban arts facility on the western side of Leicester. The venue will host innovative and affordable shows and events, including performance art, poetry, recitals, spoken word, music, cinema and arts installations.

A developmental arts venue – New and emerging artists will benefit from new programmes specifically designed to showcase their work and establish their careers, within the secure environment of a small and safe theatre space.

Our programmes run from September to June each year – We promote events and shows through this web site, a printed brochure, local listings, our mailing list and social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter). We also have a theatre dog called Lottie who is a regulate member of the front of house team.
