A trip to the theatre is a wonderful event for the whole family, but finding a show that'll keep even the youngest of children entertained can be difficult.
To help you find the perfect show for your family, we have selected some of the best shows both you and the kids can enjoy together! Whilst some shows are aimed at the younger ones and others would suit the older children – don’t be surprised if you find your 9-year-old dancing along to Ben and Holly, enjoying it just as much as your toddler!

4. Tom Gates
Based on the sensational ‘Tom Gates’ books from Liz Pichon, her characters have been brought to life in an incredible NEW live show. The show tells the story of a 10-year-old boy called Tom, who is doing everything he can to stay out of trouble. It’s not that Tom is a naughty boy (in fact, far from it) it just seems, despite his best efforts, trouble seems to follow him.
Ben and Holly live in the Little Kingdom, a tiny land where flowers and grass rise high above them and every day is an adventure. In their live show join them for fun and games and even help Gaston the Ladybird clean up his messy cave! This lovely show will even get all the grown-ups dancing and singing along - just hope there's not another jelly flood!
Izzy Wizzy let’s get busy! Join Sooty for his brand new Laugh Out Loud Magic Show! The is a spectacular treat for the whole family and will bring back nostalgic memories for all us grown-ups. The show includes the incredible chance to meet the real Richard and Sooty after the show, so you really can't miss out on this!
Adapted from the much-loved book by Judith Kerr, The Tiger Who Came for Tea is the musical play we all should see this year. Having been a smash-hit in the West End, the tea-guzzling tiger is back, touring across the county to bring families a delightful show. This tale of teatime mayhem has been packed with magic, sing-a-long songs and clumsy chaos - so expect to be thoroughly entertained!
Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy, Makka Pakka and friends are beautifully brought to life with full-size costumes, magical puppets, and enchanting music in this NEW live show.
9. Mary Poppins
One of the greatest comebacks this year is the sensational Mary Poppins! This multi award-winning musical will be returning to its original West End home at the Prince Edward Theatre from 23rd October 2019 and tickets are selling FAST! So, don't miss out on a family trip to the West End to experience the magical story of the world's favourite Nanny!
10. Marvel Live!
Marvel fans, assemble! This year experience a live, action-packed, legendary battle to defend the universe from evil. 11. Dear Zoo
Learn colours, counting and a whole zoo full of animals with 'Dear Zoo Live on Stage'. With a bright and colourful stage that replicates the illustrations from the book and animal puppets that help move the story along - your younger children will be captivated by this lovely show.
12. Elmer the Patchwork Elephant Show
Celebrating its 30th Birthday in 2019, Elmer the Elephant is BACK and as a gift they are bringing us Elmer the Patchwork Elephant Show. Based on the classic children’s book series by David McKee. The show is a celebration of individuality and the power of laughter, a great lesson for the whole family.
