Hollywood star Jake Gyllenhaal who is known for movies such as Donnie Darko and Brokeback Mountain is set to appear on the London stage next year, where he will play Georges Seurat in the musical Sunday in the Park with George. Also, Tony Award-winner Annaleigh Ashford (Kinky Boots, You Can't Take It with You) will be taking on the roles of Dot and Marie.
The pair have previously appeared in the musical in New York back in 2017 at the Hudson Theatre.
Gyllenhaal said: "Performing Sunday in the Park with George with the brilliant Annaleigh Ashford was one of the greatest joys of my career, I've also deeply missed the West End and so to be bringing Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Pulitzer Prize-winning musical there alongside Annaleigh is both humbling and thrilling."
The production will run for a limited season at the Savoy Theatre from 11 June to 5 September.
