After the government road map announcement, Andrew Lloyd Webber announced that Cinderella rehearsals have now begun, and he is doing his upmost to ensure it will open this summer!
Here's a sneak peek of the set taking shape at the Gillian Lynne Theatre and a few words from Andrew and the star of the show, Carrie Hope Fletcher...
Andrew has been working tirelessly to keep his London theatres afloat during lockdown, but also has utilised the time to refurbish ahead of their reopening, including improving seating, bars, dressing rooms, remodeling auditoriums and adding 168 (mostly women’s) loos to his venues.
He is now pushing forward relentlessly with the launch of Cinderella, The Phantom of the Opera and Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat this summer. ‘If we get a situation where, for serious medical reasons, we can’t carry on, then obviously we can’t,’ he said, ‘We’ve got to get moving again. That is my top priority.’
